HEY! will be present at OUTSIDER ART FAIR PARIS 2018 European experts in the art of modern and contemporary tattooing, curators of the exhibition Tatoueurs, Tatoués presented in 2014 at the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac (Paris) and since then on a worldwide tour, Anne De HEY! and Julien De HEY! present as part of the Outsider Art Fair Paris a few canvases from Titine K-Leu's historic series Hommage aux Icônes du tatouage. A self-taught painter, former tattoo artist, major figure in the world of contemporary tattooing and member of Europe's largest family of tattoo artists, Titine K-Leu created the Hommage aux icônes du tatouage series from 1997 to 2003, a series of paintings dedicated to the golden age of great tattoo artists, famous and unknown, whose bodies convey the work of the most talented tattoo artists of their time. Sacralizing the essence of the history that makes it up, mirroring the portrait work of Gottfried Lindauer (1839-1926), the photographic work of Herbert Hoffmann (1919-2010) or the paintings of Otto Dix (1891-1969), Titine K- Leu signs masterpieces of outsider pop art in terms of contemporary representation of the tattoo in painting. From the start of the 1990s, she re-determined this theme as her subject, a gesture that would become the inspiration for all subsequent pictorial proposals in this field.
