Description
The Société des grands projets is launching the second call for applications for the “Illustrer le Grand Paris” program, an artistic project that invites illustrators to design unique works to be permanently displayed on the platforms of the future metro. Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Institut français, and the Montreuil Book Fair, the call for applications is open from November 28, 2025, to March 6, 2026. Windows onto the territories crossed The “Illustrating Greater Paris” artistic commission program will enable large-scale murals to be installed on the platforms of the Grand Paris Express, providing a real window onto the territories. The result of the illustrators' immersion in local life, each work represents the territories crossed. Some are up to 50 meters deep and help to forge a link with the cities above ground. These works are created by professional artists and authors from the fields of comics, illustration, animation, and graphic design. Each will cover an average area of approximately 50m² spread over several panels, depending on the platform. The selection committee is composed of: - Edmond Baudoin, artist; - Ruedi Baur, graphic designer for the Grand Paris Express; - José-Manuel Gonçalvès, artistic director for the Grand Paris Express; - Thierry Groensteen, historian, comic book theorist, exhibition curator for the Angoulême Comic Book Museum, teacher; - Patrick Jouin, designer for the Grand Paris Express; - Anne Richard, founder and director of Hey! magazine, exhibition curator; - Emmanuel Tibloux, director of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs; - Sylvie Vassallo, director of the Montreuil Children's Book Fair.
